Job Shadow Program

The FDRHPO Recruitment Project is actively building a long-term workforce from local students by creating a pathway for them to succeed in the healthcare field. To engage students early on, FDRHPO offers high school and post-secondary students the opportunity to job shadow in a professional healthcare setting. The job shadow experience is valuable to students in shaping future career choices, preparing college applications and networking with healthcare professionals in their community.

Likewise, these programs provide healthcare facilities with potential candidates for future employment.

Mash Camp

Historically, FDRHPO partners twice a year with local hospital/health partners to offer the Medical Academy of Science and Health Camp (MASH). Due to the uptick in COVID cases, the current restrictions, and CDC guidance, we will not be able to offer the February 2022 MASH camp session.

We understand the value in students being able to participate in interactive activities, whether it is hands-on or connecting with a professional. In lieu of the February 2022 MASH camp, we would like to provide the students a virtual opportunity to engage with professionals in their career field interest. Each virtual session will be focused on one career field, Physician, Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Radiology, Behavioral Health, Emergency Medical Services and Health Information Technology. The sessions will be approximately 1-2 hours in length and are intended to be very interactive. These sessions will be open to students grades 8-12, with a minimum of 8 students per career session. The actual dates/times for each session will be set after the minimum number of students register.  Below is the link for the students to register. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
