Math Teacher Assistant (Grades 7-12) for 2024-2025 School Year

The successful candidate will begin on or about September 1st, 2024. This is a full-time probationary teacher assistant appointment leading toward tenure.
Existing General Brown teacher assistants desiring a transfer in assignment must fill out a Teacher Transfer Request Form and submit to the District Office.
Responsibilities:
- Challenge and educate students in a classroom setting
- Strong background and interest in mathematics
- Adhere to the established teaching curriculum
- Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Document and share student grades and evaluations
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
- Collaborate with math teachers, special educators,and academic intervention service providers
Qualifications:
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- In accordance with New York State certification requirements for Teacher Assistant
- Certification is preferred, but applicants interested in pursuing certification are also encouraged to apply
- Preference given to applicants with multiple certifications including special education

Bus Driver Position
We offer a regionally competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are awarded pursuant to the existing collective bargaining agreement. This includes a sign-on bonus of $4000 for new employees hired as bus drivers that are 19-A certified, have CDL with Passenger and Student endorsements having passed the required state DOT training. There is a $2000 sign-on bonus for new drivers in need of training. Paid training is provided. SRP Referral Bonus of $1500. These bonuses are pursuant to the GBSRP agreement from 11/7/2023.
Hourly wage commensurate with experience and pursuant to the GBSRP collective bargaining agreement
